MAPA Announces VIBE Scholarship Fund to Support Inclusivity in the Marching Arts
February 6, 2025
The Michigan Alliance for Performing Arts (MAPA) is proud to introduce the Valuing Inclusion, Building Empowerment (VIBE) Scholarship, a new initiative dedicated to fostering inclusivity in the marching arts community. This scholarship aims to uplift students who demonstrate a passion for performance, leadership, and personal growth while championing equity for all performers.
By breaking down barriers to entry, the VIBE Scholarship ensures that every performer—regardless of background or identity—feels supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
Fully funded by independent donors, this scholarship will provide financial assistance to deserving students, helping them pursue their passion and develop their talents.
“MAPA believes in the transformative power of the arts,” said Chris Vilag, President of MAPA. “By investing in young performers, we’re not only supporting their artistic growth but also strengthening the future of our community.”
The VIBE Scholarship aligns with MAPA’s mission to provide outstanding adjudication, organization, and experiences for Michigan’s percussion and winds ensembles. Students, educators, and community members can learn more or apply at www.performmapa.org/scholarships.
