Founded in 2021, the Michigan Alliance for Performing Arts (MAPA) is a nonprofit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Michigan Nonprofit Corporation Act.

MAPA exists to promote the growth of performing arts through competition, performance and educational activities, and to encourage goodwill, good sportsmanship and camaraderie through such activities.
